Sometimes at the end of the year we might find ourselves being pulled off center by making holiday time (there are over 20 holidays between November and January around the world) pulled off center by our physicality (foods, preparing celebrations, waiting in line traveling or shopping,) our mentality (to-do lists, stressors from being with/without family,) and our emotionality (missing loved ones, being around people who might be less than compassionate, memories of past holidays compared to this one.) These are easy traps to fall into. If we take time to "settle," and "be," and reflect on the meaning of the holiday spiritually, we can bring focus to our higher consciousness, or sahasrara, the "crown" chakra. When we elevate our awareness to being more compassionate, devoted, prayerful, and meditative we can rise above the worldly turmoil, and find a deeper, centering meaning to our holidays.
